Having run hope EVO2's on all my MTB wheelsets for the last 3+ years, I decided for a change on some WTB Asym i29's Ive had built up as a 29er wheelset with DT 350's and Comp spokes.....and WOW

They roll....sooooo well. A bit strange at first due to lack of the hope "click" but super stiff (asymmetric rim definitely helps here) and a marked difference to the hope tech enduro wheelset I was running.

Very impressed 🙂

The lack of Hope angry bee buzz was what attracted me to DT Swiss, but also found they do roll well and hub design, end cap fitting and sealing means they go on for ages without the bearings turning to crud.

Thing that's always got me about Hope is the amount of praise for their ease of service or rather changing bearings. Yes they are, but ask yourself why you're changing bearings at all. DT and you'll be changing them once every 10 years if ever.

Anyway, really like the star ratchet as well. Pawls seem more vulnerable and crud up. And with DT, if you want more or less POE, just swap the ratchets.
