And then had the next day free to ride anywhere in S Wales, where would you go? If it’s trail centre I prefer flowy/jumpy stuff. However, equally not adverse to a big day out in the hills.

we tend to stop of at forest of dean on the way down to bpw, it means we dont have to go ridiculously early to get to the 10am start @ bpw, done the red which can be hardwork, lots of sniper roots and not that rewarding, but the downhill trails are great.

afan isnt too far, but alot of climbing and not that flow at times, although we all enjoyed it, despite a wet day

ps. premierinn sale on merthyr and other local hotels, booked yesterday for £35-45 a night on thurs/fri/sunday nights in october / november / december

The Gap ride from Brecon isn't far away.

Barry Sidings...literally a few minutes down teh road, and the polar opposite of a trail centre flow trail...great fun

+1 for Dirt Farm - it's a hoot.

Tractor uplift and superbly built flow and jump trails. It's great, honestly.

+1 for Barry Sidings. Steep hand-built tech, nice easy fire road climbs to access the trails, great cafe, free parking, all just a few miles down the A470 from BPW.

We recently did 3 days, FOD on the way, BPW on middle day, then to Cwmcarn for the sunday, we had planned to do the Gap ride mentioned above, but weather forecast was bad, typically turned out ok in the end..

All not more than an hour apart and a good mixture of riding

Me and a mate did last nights evening uplift at Dirt Farm, and its gone straight in as one of my favorite spots. 100% worth a visit, and probably within an hour of BPW I guess?

Dirt Farm does look good. Unfortunately, doesn’t appear to be open on the day in question.

For my annual uplift weekend away I always used to do one day at BPW and one day at FOD, but for the last two years I've swapped FOD for Dirt Farm (nee BMCC). Dirt Farm is brill  - it's the very definition of flowy, jumpy stuff.

We used to do BPW on the Saturday then Cwmcarn on the Sunday.

Nice cross country loop with a techy climb that's actually good fun even if you hate climbing like I do.

Around that area I’d probably do Fod off piste or the Risca stuff off the back of Cwmcarn. Fod not on trail forks but Risca is.

Afan masts is good and easy enough to find but a bit further on near Swansea.

Want to try Tirpentwys at some point - looks tricky but jumpy.

We pretty much always end up doing FOD uplift and Dirt Farm (BMCC). For me they're a perfect complement to BPW, FOD gives you handmade "natural"ish, characterful and bosky, Dirt Farm gives you beautifully handcrafted and frickin tractors.

For you, it'd be dirt farm I reckon.
