fed up of looking at which one I think is best for my money so I thought I would do a survey to see what others think.

Ive tested:
Giant Anthem X 29 £2000
Specialized Fsr stumpjumper £2500
Cube Sting 140 Pro 29 £1800

I plan on testing trek, orange and nukeproof on Saturday on a demo day Cannock chase.
im a tall guy (6.3+) and seem to like the 29er style geometry but ive never tried 27.5.

its a mine field out there and I want a bike that will be capable all over the country because I would like to visit the likes of lakes, wales, scotland. so far the best value for money I think is the anthem x 29er.

Specialized Fsr stumpjumper evo £2500

Forget the wheel size, it's the best bike you can buy for the money.

(I am a tad biased, as I own one)

I've just bought a Giant anthem X 29er and live near Llandegla. Its the perfect bike for it. £2000 so keep £500 in your pocket.

I got my LBS to chuck in a dropper post at that price too

Loving my Spesh stumpy fsr comp evo 29. The Cube Sting is heavy. Try the stereo instead. It's the carbon version of the sting for 2300. I would go for the stumpy though.

I toyed with the idea of building up a Salsa Spearfish but once I had the same spec as the Giant I was looking at about £800 more. Just couldn't justify it. The value of the Giant is unreal

Got it from Alf Jones in Wrexham. Had two bikes from there in the last year and they're always really helpful

Thanks. After Saturday I should know which one.
Stumpy or Anthem most likely.

Did they put giants dropper on it?

Yeah Giants own dropper. Not a huge amount of muddy riding done just yet but so far so good!

I'd be saving up another 250 English pound coins and buying one of these in May when available...

That meta looks pretty good! That, use the money saved to put some properly posh wheels on there, say American classics am, add a dropper and you should still have a bit of money in the budget to put some nice gears on there when those wear out
