What would you use on a 35 mile commute?
Schwalbe Marathon is the go-to iirc
conti protection tyres for me. thousands of urban miles with no punctures. Now running gp4000
As above, a Marathon of some flavour. Hardly set the world alight in terms of speed or handling, but reliable as an old Mercedes. Bombproof.
For my 39 mile a day commute across London 6 years ago I used to use GP4 Season 28s. I don’t remember getting a puncture.
GP4 seasons come in 32s now. That’s what I have on my commuter.
Tubeless?
Another vote for marathons.
only one puncture in hundreds of miles on tubeless Panaracer Gravelking SK 35c.
Marathon Supreme is a lot nicer and faster than the regular Marathon.
1862 miles on 700 x 42 wtb resolutes, many thorns no punctures. I love tubeless
Conti Sport Contact from Planet X. Don't think they go as big as 38, but I've had ones that have worn out before they've punctured. Roll fast and only 8 quid.
The only tyres with tubes I have used that never punctured were Marathon Plus. I have punctured all others (Armadillos, RibMo, Durano Plus etc,.)
If you are running tubeless that is a different matter and when I was using 38C Specialised Sawtooth they never punctured once in a years use (on and off road)
