Are you guys stepping up the exercise at the same time or keeping it to 'usual' levels? I'm stalling at about one stone loss in 8 weeks but for sanity I do have a few 'off piste' moments with the food intake.

This last month hasn't been so good. Was on holiday in France which was b&b so difficult to eat *properly*. Fortunately I was road biking so was burning a fair bit of calories.... 😳

Been on and off since I got back but planning to get back on it today.

Still finding breakfasts awkward due to not getting up early enough and just plain struggling to have something sensible. That's always been my problem on the idiet though. Hey ho. I need to find that beans recipe of yours and try that.

I'm doing a mix of idiet and primal, not for fat loss, I like eating this way and have no plans to change. That said, last year I commuted three thousand miles by bike, so far this year only three hundred and I have a lower body fat% than last year.I'm eating a lower amount of carbs than idave recommends and have one big carbing up meal per week.

My energy levels stay pretty constant through the day and I don't get the sugar cravings I used to and can easily resist if there are cakes sat by my desk. I don't really eat dairy, except for the occasional bit of strong cheddar and the double cream in my coffee. 🙂

Doing good here, energy levels are going through the roof, started trail running a few weeks back as I needed something to slake this new found craving for exercise when cycling hasn't been practical.

Gone from 14 st 7lb in April to 12st 2lb today, I think there's a few more pounds to lose on my tummy and have started core exercising to help this along. Aiming for a six pack for the first time in my life!

Food wise it's mainly refried beans, veggies and meat with a curry blow out on Friday nights. Been braaiing lean meat most days on the barby this past couple of weeks which has been fab. Still having milk in my tea and a slice of toast with my eggs for breakfast though, so not sticking to the plan 100%

Really enjoying the whole process, dare I say it? It's been life changing.

Not a big beer drinker. Might have wine or maybe cider on Friday/Saturday. If I fancy a tipple mid week it's rum and diet coke.

Just discovered marmite on gram flour flatbreads!!

Gram flour flat breads have to be made yourself, just mix gram (chickpea) flour with water, salt, pepper and any herbs you want and fry like a pancake. They are an aquired taste, but good for dipping in chilli/curry, although marmite sounds like a good shout.

I'm more primal than idiet and using lots of coconut milk. Last week I made a chicken and chickpea curry, then added spinach and coconut milk, absolutely delicious! Coconut flour muffins are good too.

Up until this year I seemed to get/keep in shape by either 1) eating/drinking really healthily or 2) exercising well. Now I have to do a fair bit of both. Some might see that as a 😮 but I don't - it's more of a 😛 because the benefits of combining both simultaneously are really making a difference.

Am kind of fusing iDiet with Primal without cutting milk/cheese/etc. Tend to blow out on both Sat and Sun. Walk/run (mixing in hills/intervals) 90 mins Mon/Tue and Fri plus ride total of 5-6 hrs throughout the week.

Started this 4-5 weeks ago and have only lost a few lbs but I'm a lot leaner. I dare say a fair bit of muscle mass has been converted. Previous to this was having to do Tabata due to time constraints - whilst this had some benefits it wasn't a 'cutter' IME.

Fruit. And exercise supplementation I suppose.

The idiet uses lots of legumes/lentils etc for carbs, wheras primal is all about burning fat as fuel.

A typical primal day for me would be a chorizo, onion and mushroom omellete with tomatoes for breakfast, chicken and avocado salad for lunch, then a steak cooked in butter with mushrooms and onions fried in butter, steamed broccoli with any butter left poured over the top. :-)Through the day I will have a coffee or three with double cream on top and maybe some strong dark chocolate for dessert.

I'm not completely primal though, as I still eat some legumes.

Also as molgrips just mentioned fruit! I mainly stick to dark berries, but just had a lovely nectarine, but primal also suggest missing out fruit to lose fat.

I started on the idiet last May quickly lost 2 stone (12st 7 to 10stone 7 in three months) and have had no problem at all keeping it off, infact Im now usually around the 10st3or4 mark. Don't have any problem sticking to what I eat and love chickpea nad chicken curry!

sorry bigdawg, I don't have a recipe and haven't actually made them myself, just eaten some a friend made, but coconut flour, eggs and butter are the main ingredients. As soon as I find myself some coconut flour I will make some and post the recipe.

I think I've lost about 1.5 stone since I started in March, I've stalled in the last couple of months but haven't really been sticking to it

Off on hols in 2 weeks time so got back on it last week and lost another 4 lbs so far.

I've pretty much now come to terms with the diet change, and am eating healthier without thinking about it (and enjoying it).

Have to say I've been feeling a lot better since starting, and as someone with Crohns disease it's made a definite improvement to my energy levels\health in general (although this is also probably due to losing some flab)

For the last few weeks I've been trying to lay off pasta, bread and potatoes but could do with a more structured plan of action - can anyone send me the basic rules for the iDave?

Over 3stone down since doing it properly from March (apart from beer drinking which starts friday night and ends early monday morning and probably weds night too) I stick to red wine outside of that.

Less exercise than normal as I broke my ribs and then got tonsillitis...

Well not exactly. You do need to burn a lot more fat on the iDiet, because you can't get as many carbs in as you otherwise would. iDiet is all about generating less insulin in your body, which in turn helps you burn fat.

I didn't realise legumes were not on the primal diet though.

can anyone send me the basic rules for the iDave?

post a few teasers of stuff which is pretty much widely available anyway (basically a re-mix of Atkins-lite, primal and 4dd),
build up a cult of fanboys and apologists,
drop hints about "contact me for the full package" if anyone asks serious questions,
then blag off with the punters ££££ and go for a jolly around France....

....allegedly

I cant see where Dave has done any of that - Most people here have been sent the plan free of charge - if you stick by it you lose weight

Never been asked to pay money for the 'full package' and yet somehow Ive still manage to lose nearly 2 1/2 stone, and my race times and results are better than ever.

The only money Ive HAD to shell out was for an entire new wardrobe as nothing fitted me any more...

Anyone had any different experiences?!?!

Have been doing it for 18 months now it's nothing special anymore it's become routine. I don't follow the diet religously I've made an effort to understand how it works and if nothing else it's an education. I tend to supplement it with a fair bit of home produce.

Shop bought vegetables, bread and junk food taste very strange now - chemically, synthetic etc - like eating wood or plastic.

Silly.. the diet is free, but iDave is a coach and people approached him for training... that's where the problems started.

For me the main meals are also routine, but not having a latte, a cake or biscuit during the day is really difficult.

It's changed my relationship with veg though. Now I can really taste the sweetness in things like beans and carrots. And I now buy fresh instead of frozen, cos now I really appreciate it.
