Hi all, have a 2016 Specialized Carbon Comp (the hyper green one you've all seen). Which 'suffers' from Specializeds SCS thru axle spacing conundrum. I've got a 142 rear hub fitted (Zipp Course 30) with no issues (using SCS hanger) so think I am safe to look at standard 12x142 thru axles.
I've been running a trailer for towing the little one to nursery on a Tacx thru axle (made for trainers) but it is occasionally coming loose, the thread pitching is fine for my frame which is listed as M12x1.0 pitch thread (on the Tacx site) - https://www.evanscycles.com/tacx-e-thru-axle-12mm-skewer-EV288204
I think this points me towards a 12x142mm adaptor with 'fine' thread which is M12x1.00 and reading around is the same as 'Syntace X-12'?
Robert Axle project selects me 12x135 1.0 thread when going through their options which although backs up my thread diagnosis is the wrong width - https://robertaxleproject.com/shop/12x135-1-0-mm-thread-for-hitch-mount-trailer/ also is around £70 with delivery and time from the US to the UK.

bikester.co.uk have the same Thule for £45 but never heard of them, Swinnerton also have the Thule adaptor for a few quid more so I would generally use them as heard of them before...
Looks like Burley do a £50 adaptor with lots of width and pitch options which Triton will order ( https://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/accessories-c11/trailers-tag-alongs-strollers-c148/thru-axle-adaptor-p18024) but with the Burley site themselves listed as out of stock I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting one.
Anyone have any other options/suggestions that I've missed before I order this X-12 from Swinnerton?
Do my calculations of thread pitch and width sound correct? Just found more chatter around thru axle trailer adaptors here than anywhere else! Ta 🙂

SJS have the Roberts axles in stock, not sure what length you need.

The Thule axle is universal and comes with a spacer for 142 and 148mm dropouts. Maxle is just a standard 12mm thread.
when fitting mine I torque it up properly. Make sure the threads are spotless as there’s a huge difference in torque between a lubed thread and one that’s greased (on a car you can easily exceed the bolt’s elastic limit with a copper slipped wheel bolt). The axle shaft itself should be lightly greased
threadlock the bolt that holds the hitch itself.

Some of my reading before pointed that a 142mm hub is actually a 180mm Axle? Anyone shed any light?

The axle width also takes into account the dropout widths in addition to the 142mm of the hub; 180 sounds right, but the best thing would be to take out your existing axle and measure it.
Yeah it's probably going to be much safer to do that 😉
Only have my bike with this Tacx adaptor fitted with me at work but will dig out my Specialized thru axle at the weekend and measure it.
£2.50 delivery from SJS still puts this at £60 for a damn axle! Annoyingly expensive for what it is! 🙁
