You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Okay, so I have a bike that needs IDing as it's annoying me no end. It was bought by a friend as a singlespeed albeit a conversion. It may or may not be a Trek (owing to the Ritchey stem that seems to have originally come with it), it has vertical dropouts and NO rear brake bosses of any variety. None, nada. Not even a hole in the seatstay brace for calipers. Only thing I can assume is that all the braze-ons have been removed given it has rack mounts up top but not at the dropouts.
Any ideas?
No, that's not the original colour scheme. Or forks.
Yes I'm selling it (in case the sleuths spot it's copied off my ebay add) but no this is not a sly ad. I just genuinely want to know what the hell it is!
The shape looks like a Kona
Whats the frame number? have you got a drop out photo?
nice frame and pedals! what make are the pedals ?
If thats not a kona from them the mid 90's then if be surprised
As above, looks very much like a Kona. Thought it could be a Sunn but don't think they had the rack bolts at the top of the seat stay.
Id say Kona too but they deffo had brakes! The forks would have been P1s and those aren't, nice bike though!
You know someone's nicked your kitchen, don't you?
Head tube looks bit short for a kona.
Its a 16" which could explain the short length.
Frame numbers are F409Y21123 round the non drive side and 5I-321 in the centre.
Looks like it could be a Kona from the numbers?
Pedals are Wellgo DMR copies
