Found my first pair when rummaging through an old box of bike bits at my parents. They must be at least 20 years old, probably 25 years. Just wondering what they are (mk 1 M-Frames?) and if I can get away with wearing them now? 8)

Blades. Looks like White/Gray (sic) to me.

*edit - Beaten to it!*

Blades started in '85, before the Mumbo in '89 which changed name to M-Frame the year after.

Wearing them now? Well, unless you like them, I'd be hawking them for many pounds to some hipsterasshat as they're now "retro"! FWIW, Oakley have just released a "Heritage" range of older styles, but they included the Razor Blade, not the Blade.

I wonder if I can get replacement lenses?

Hadn't considered selling them. Hmmm!

Those are the re-issues. Not sure if the Razor had the same lens as the Blade itself.

A quick googlage shows retro Blades on the market for over £100 up to silly money.

Razor blades had a smaller lens. Looked a lot better IMHO but less eye cover

And they had the option of the straight arms or the ones with a bend in.

And original Frogskins. I know you can not get original Frogskin lenses from Oakley as I asked them the other week. Though I currently have prescription lenses in them.

And original Frogskins.

Nope. They're not. The originals had metal hinges.

Yep your right, I brought them 95/96 so i'm not sure if they are second or even third generation.

Wow just looked here didn't even know Frogskins were that old.

Oh I have frogskins from about 1990 somewhere too, though finding them would be another thing altogether! In a box in the loft I think. Wonder how much they are going for?

I've got some mid 90s 2nd gen straight jackets in my drawer, still wear them occasionally, looking forward to them coming back into fashion so I can flog em.

For more geek-age, the arms 'with a bend in' are 'trigger' arms.

Actually don't like/own any blades/razor blades

My Mumbo collection however is complete and only need 2 pairs of Gen 1 M Frames to complete that collection. 8)

Re; original frogskins. I have a few pairs;)

Despite Oakley's insistence that they don't sell lenses for 1st generation frog's the truth is the lenses currently available will fit your original frog's perfectly. Same moulds.......;)

Its all about the metal hinges. If they don't have them they're not worth nowt. I'm always interested in original frogs.
