I bought Ms AD a set of XT callipers, with Ice Tech pads and rotors for a pretty good price. What are my options when it comes to replacing the pads (if I dont want to spend £20 a go on Ice Tech ones).

Will any "standard" pads fit callipers that were shipped with Ice Tech ones?

I've got an older set of XT ones from an old set of brakes, but it doesnt look like they would work.

Yep, non-finned aftermarket pads are available about as easily as an other pads. Superstar ones are the cheapest I've heard of.

OK, sounds like I just need to check what model number the XT callipers are.

I'm pretty sure Shimano have only got one finned pad shape, and Superstar call it S5 (without the fins)

Edit: here's the Shimano doc:

Finned pads are "F-Type" and the non-finned equivalent are "G-Type".

As per pdw. G type is effectively the prior model xt caliper pad. Fits the new claiper in the same way older generation d type pads fit saint calipers.
