I've ridden a fair bit on Ice and Snow the last year and a bit, some of that looked very smooth and slippery, I'd be surprised they were on just normal rubber.
FB poster said they had spikey tyres... I doubt they'd be that upright otherwise.

Nearest I've come to that was one freezing day after lots of snow when we went up Holcombe Hill and found that the BW that runs 2-3 miles along to Helmshore had filled in with drifted snow, which had frozen solid. We were able to ride along it on a lovely smooth undulating crunchy surface swooping up and down like we were flying, all the way to Robin Hood's Well and back.
