What size Ibis Tranny for a 6'1" bloke? Would like it to be at it's best in the woods, so not long and stretched out. Normal L, or XL with a short stem?

I know there are rumours of a 29er, but I won't be able to afford it, so second hand 26" for me...

I am 6ft and had a large with shortish stem, perhaps 7cm - never seemed small. I imagine a large would be OK for you.

Do you want to use a dropper post? If so, work out if the seat tube on the XL would be too long or not.
Ibis seem to give the seat tube measurement to the bottom of the post clamp, which then adds another half inch on! that makes the XL 21.5"! Ridiculous for the short top tube length (for an XL).

Ibis tend to be short in the top tube for a given size. I ride a Mojo SL Large and I'm 6'. But I'm of the long legged (34" inside leg) short torso variety and I'm running an 80mm stem.

Sweamrs rides a Medium Blur LTc and if you put the bikes next to each other there isn't a lot in it...

So for 6"1 I'd go XL with a short stem...

I've got a large and I'm 5"10 with a 31 inside leg and it fits well with a 60mm stem so at your height you deffo need an xl.

I sold mine to fd3chris, still slightly regret it, amazing bike.
I am 5:11 - 6ft and it was short in the top tube, i rode it with a 90mm stem.
i would suggest an xl, i think the effective top tube is 600mm so pretty upright on a large if your over 6ft.
unbelievably good bike tho.
