But for that much cash I'd also want an awesome headbadge!

Woe to the pedant/aesthete

Nay lad, what you want is one of these.... 😉

http://www.jaspacycles.com/

I bought the 1st one in the front page picture gallery. It was only the 3rd bike they'd sold and it's truly lovely. It just swooshes along, until you try to change gear with the kickback hub, then it tries to kill you, but when it's not being homicidal, it's a work of art.

Go on, you know you want one.

Beagy 8)

My tripster ardour has just cooled a little.

He's just in one of the early stages of Tripsteritis.

He'll be in self justification soon, you'll see.

That headtube is a thing of beauty. I'd not spoil it with a badge. I'd have one in my quiver of steeds 🙂

The head tube is machined from a solid billet of Ti.
Didn't realise the price had gone up.. Does include carbon forks, headset and a useless seat Clamp..... And of course membership to our glorious club.

Tis really an ace versatile bike.. Have barely ridden a mtb since buying one.

I thought I wanted a Tripster and then I found I really wanted a Sabbath September AR1.

It is fantastic.

Unadorned, I agree 🙂

In fact anything other than something that looks like a generic 90s/2k UK mtb magazine logo has been stamped over the beauty! Come on Kinesis, I'll buy one if you let me redesign ur logo, fair deal?

(My Maxlight was worse still, great, great frame compromised only by decalitis !)

NJA, can you set up a tripster style thread featuring your AR1. I'm in two minds about which to go for. Out of interest, have you ridden both?

Really glad mine didn't come with a website address on the head tube, is that a new addition?

I have 2 ar1s in the the house at the moment. Mine is nearly built but here is my wifes. Mostly 105 11speed with ultra cranks. Spyre brakes and an exposure dynamo hub. Hopefully mine will be on the road next week. Excuse the poor photo. Me too. And when the complete bikes come in I'm getting one despite selling 3 older bikes to get one.

If you get a tripster put 40c WTB Nanos on it - bloody lovely.

Thinking about it I'm more of a Surly Troll, any amateur psychiatrist would suggest that my simmering skinny bike longings are merely a projection of my frustrated inner svelte and speedy self. Time for a new ad methinks... 😉

Prefer the geometry, slightly cleaner lines and the curved head tube on the Tripster. Its more aesthetics than anything. Plus I own one.
I do prefer the cable routing on the AR1 for the rear brake though..
