I thought I measured it quite accurately at 192mm i to i and 2" stroke, but looking around for a 2nd hand one I can't find any with those exact dimensions, so does anyone know what the dimensions are to save me removing the shock from the bike again?

Don't worry, found it in the tech manual. If anyone needs to know it's 190.5mm x 44.5mm or 7.5" x 1.75". I'm guessing I need to get a shock with EXACTLY those dimensions, or is it ok to have a slightly longer stroke as long as the i to i is the same? Closest I've found so far on eBay is 190 x 53mm.

Normally specialised would put a custom shock spec on lower end bikes ( on the enduro elite 05 it was an 8.5 x 2.25 instead of an 8.5 x 2.5 which went on the comp and pro - which used the same frame!)

As long as the i2i is the same you shouldn't affect the geometry but you will get more travel from the longer stroke

I don't think they did that with the Stumpy 120 as the S Works has the same rear travel. I had read somewhere before that it's a bit of an oddball length though which seems to be correct as i haven't found any 2nd hand that are exactly the same length and stroke.

When I looked there were very few available. You might have an issue with the frame bottoming out somewhere if you go for a longer stroke.

Had the same problem here, the shock just above the lower eye catches on the Hollowlink. E-mail me on simonwannannadrive@yahoo.co.uk

Ok thanks guys. I'm only looking 2nd hand and there's bugger all about at the right length and stroke. Think I'll let all the air out this evening and see exactly what I can get away with without bottoming out the frame/tyr hitting seat tube, but i will probably end up just getting the current shock serviced and just live with it as can't justifie buying new when i may be changing frames at the end of the year.
