I liked to pride myself that I wasn't one of those easily swayed weak minded fools, turns out I'm not.

Been following superrider on Instagram and now it's got me shopping for a DJ/pump track bike that I can put a front brake on and to some basic trials/super slow bike handling skills.

I could do any of this on my big bike (would be a bit trickier) but theres two pump tracks really close to my house so would be perfect for improving manuals.

The thing is I could do any of this on my BMX that hasn't seen daylight in nearly 4 years!

Now think I'll sell BMX to fund new bike.

FFS!

Go out and do basic trials stuff on your big bike. I've done it a few times on a Privateer 141. It's pretty satisfying and you're learning skills on a bike that you'll actually ride.

Well the BMX is up for sale now (Not a stealth ad) tried to sell it before but always keep it, it just looks so good.

I was never that good on it even when I did ride it regularly but it's been so long now it's like starting all over again.

Will probably just use my big bike for everything ( probably more beneficial) and not get a  jump bike.

But I could

But I won't

But I maybe I should.

I got a cheap DMR trailstar of ebay last summer. Had a great time at local pumptracks. It's an old bike, but still perfectly servicable. Do it, you'll love it.

I built up an old Charge Blender as a pump track/Dadcountry bike and it’s great fun.

Where are you? I'm in Sheffield and I'd join a Dad-trials club. I've got a nice DJ bike which people are welcome to play on but you'll have to bring your own front brake.

Good effort. What's your local track?

I'm in Glasgow so got the velosolutions pumptrack a short drive or the Knightswood Olympic center has a pumtrack outside and the clydebank BMX track are both within riding distance of my house.

I think it's more likely she'd make @kayak23 her prison wife 😳

Here's something to motivate you now, then make you feel totally inadequate when you go out and try it 😉

Our local Velosolutions track is basically unrideable most of the time. The local kids don't know what it is so there's just hordes of them running all over it in all directions.

If you're not there before 8am it's not worth the drive.

Pretty sure I'll be doing none of that

I can imagine about velosolutions, I finish work before 1 on Fridays so used to go to the indoor skatepark and literally had the place to my self for 2 hours un till the schools emptied, it was bliss.

And as a little bonus Treds are selling a matching front brake for £20 Sram level probably not a great brake but good enough to start.

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.SRAM-Level-Disc-Brake_91926.htm

Hope its not just the hose

That's the brake I have on my Transition PBJ. Sorry to break it to you, but it's as effective as pinching the rotors with my fingers.

Might be alright on the front though. Worth a try for that price.
