You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've been making an effort to get fitter with a bit o gym work, laying off the crap, giving up bread etc (note to self, need to find a new vehicle for marmite and tinned pilchards)
The offroad ups are definitely getting easier but I'm beginning to think a road bike might be a worthwhile investment to get even more gains.
Can the STW roadie hivemind help me pick out a suitable road bike? I wont be using for anything other than getting fit, i.e no commuting, no touring etc. so no need for panniers, mudguards etc.
Ideally, I'd like something light, good value that I wont want to upgrade anytime soon, and if possible, with a bright colourscheme.
I got £600-ish to spend, is that enough?
edit: what minimum spec should i be looking at? do you know of any deals on at the moment?
Cheers
Not eating bread? How does that make you fitter?
And for £600, you'd get a fair decent bike 2nd hand.
Tiagra is the lowest i'd go really. You can't go far with this defy for the money http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m7b4s6p4260
Failing that have a look at the decathlon Triban 5 here http://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-5-id_8167039.html
need a new vehicle for marmite and tinned pilchards? try the space shuttle and put the world entire supply inside, once in orbit BOOM!!!!!!
I'm feeling the need too cheez0.
May well result in the death of a careless driver but fitness is a priority and gyms are soul destroying.
