A friend has just sent her front shimano brake off for warranty. To continue riding she has fitted a Saint front from her DH bike. However the brake and shifter (an ebike shimano one) were i spec. The bike is only 6 months old so i think its i-spec ev?

She currently has ziptied her shifter to the bars but its a v poor solution. Is there an adapter to allow the shifter to have a new bars clamp? She has ordered Hope brakes with a long lead time, so the barclamp mount will be the best solution for the time being.

Does anyone have any experience of such a thing?

Thanks
Ian

Most Shimano shifters bodies are the same and can be interchangeable. SJS (IIRC) do most small spares (clamps etc.). I converted a XT i-Spec shifter bargain to clamp-on at less cost going this route.

Not anymore. It used to be that you could swap the upper body cap, but now they are entirely different products.

Problemsolvers would probably have something.
"Ispec ev band clamp"?

If it is Ispec EV this could be a solution. Loads of those SRAM clamps knocking about

KCNC do (or certainly used, as I had them) an adapter to add a bar clamp to I-spec shifters

Oh yeah! Ebay do em! Amazon do em! You can get em off TK Maxx! So useful without links! 😛

How about Clee Cycles

If we knew what the shifter is that would probably help quite a lot.

For example if it was an XT 12 speed then this would be the bit you need -

If it's a Deore 12 then part number Y0GV98040 will be the bit you need. They are rare beasts though unfortuately.

I got one of the 3d printed ones off eBay for my ispec B shifter

Yes from Estonia, assume it's the same person

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Handlebar-Adapter-Shimano-I-Spec-Shifter/dp/B08L42SMHC?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_dls_failed&dplnkId=0facfb80-7d81-4910-bac0-341b7b2b484e

Took a couple of weeks to arrive , it's a bit clunky looking, but rock solid & works perfectly
Would buy again

Did you read the link I posted about using a SRAM brake mount? It looks no more clunky than that ^ 3D printed job. You should be able to find one knocking about for free and if you can’t I have a spare I can post

This is a timely thread... GF wanted her XTR geartrain (including Ispec EV shifter) moved onto her full suss that has Hope brakes. Problem is the Hope EV adaptor has some compromises and shifts the shifter mount quite a bit towards centre of bars so she can no longer reach with he small hands.

The shifter itself has capacity to slide towards the grips another 12mm or so but the Hope adaptor has a ruddy great hex head in the way blocking movement. Just something to watch when your friend gets her Hope brakes. Looking at one of those printed adaptors now.
