Bought a set of xtr I spec b shifters to match up to my xtr bl m988 levers. I'd spent a while trying to work out the confusing mess that is Ispec and thought I'd got it right....
The levers and shifters mate up fine, but the bolts I've been supplied with don't appear to. The little black cylinder needs a second pin to go through a small hole in the lever, which isn't there. So I think I have the wrong bolts?
Anyone an expert and tell me if I've bought the wrong shifters (they look like they fit) or if I need different fitting bolts?
From what I can tell I have conventional levers, which the shifters should fit, but need a different pair of bolts. Anyone know who sells just the bolts, I don't want to spend £20 on a whole cover set at crc
EDIT - I think I got it arse about face so deleted comment.

Thanks just found those threads too. I'm missing the top hat from the bolts provided. I'll go back to merlin to see why it wasn't included, but the other bolts were, it stated bolts included....

It pays to read the small print...
Your options are:-
1. Buy the bolts separately - Shimano part# Y-6UV98090
2. See if anyone's got any spare and will donate them - if they've bought a proper boxed set which comes with both sets of bolts, and have fitted them to I-Spec B levers, they'll have the bits you want left over
3. Return the Merlin ones and buy a proper retail boxed set somewhere else that has both sets of bolts (and cable outers) included
I did #3, and got Wiggle to price match Merlin 😉
I've moved away from I-spec, as you can't source older levers now. With lever fails fairly common at the moment, combined with the fact you have to buy new shifters to fit new levers, for that reason, I'm out.
See I thought m988 was b spec.....from what I'd researched...looks like I will be sending them back then.

There were both I-Spec A and B M988 levers, depending on when you bought them. Easiest way to check is just look at the model number stamped on the lever body - if it just says "BL-M988" like the one below then its I-Spec A. An I-Spec B lever will say "BL-M988-B".
