I have to form a limited company for contract work but all my ideas are poo!.

Really want something I can live with but like the idea of 3 syllables , has to be available as a domain name and limited company as I want to setup a web presence as well. Everything I think of is not available or simply crap.

The company will be IT network consultancy related.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted. No doubt some fun along the way.

Apologies wrong forum should be in chat!!!!!! Grrr

avoid 'consulting', 'consultancy' or 'contracting' in the name - apparently these are a red rag to a bull for the IR35 investigators 🙂

I went for my '<my initials> systems ltd'

Easy, and not too embarassing when I have to say it to people.

are you going to market yourself at all? If not and you're just contracting through it, chillax and go for something as per alfabus.

From http://generator.ornicus.com/ - Avectos. Sounds dynamic. Easy to spell. And 3 syllables.

don't forget to check the companies house website to make sure your chosen name isn't taken (before you get too attached)

Great ideas. However looks like some have not quite got the hang of it! But I knew that would be the case.

Cosmopolitan Monkey Feltch, um 3 syllables not words! 🙄

Dirty Protest Ltd, hmm if only.

I will not be marketing as such but the web presence could be important in the future.

My tips are make sure the domain name is available and make the name something that sounds like it is spelt/is spelt like it sounds. It makes giving your email address over the phone easier.

I'm not sure the domain name being is as important as being able to type the name into google which is what most people do. So even if www.pinkpython.com was available there is no way I'm googling that :). It is just as valid to have www.ppython.com if the full name isn't available

Don't waste any time or though on it, nobody cares. Just go for any three letters/digits that aren't already taken with .com or .uk after them. Everyone will vaguely assume they stand for something, nobody will ever know, care or ask what they actually stand for.

Go ask Block and Quayle.

I used to work in brand management
Your brand name should tell folk what you do.
So call it what you do.
I like to personify the brand
... So you charlie the bikemonger

In my town there is a company called "jesters"... Fancy dress, party stuff, juggling supplies, no

PC stuff !!!

I like the idea of "tell folk what you do" but its so anal. I would rather call the company "w4nking dogs ltd" or indeed "whinycockbag" as its a bit specialised.

Three letters its a bit boring.

There are some great ideas here and I am sure I will have that light bulb moment soon.

Got any rivers or hills or something like that close by? If you were in the Black Mtns you could be called Lord Herefords Knob Systems Ltd. Or maybe Sugarloaf Systems might be better...
