Just come back from a weeks holiday in Holland and really enjoyed riding their "Omafiets" Granny Bikes. I would love to get one but in the UK the prices are really high for a good one. Contemplating going back to Holland by train and ferry just to buy one. Anyone know anywhere in the UK that might supply new or used Dutch bikes?

Or buy British and get a Pashley
Or buy second hand, heres one I built for Mrs Fs birthday last year, I filled the basket with sunflowers and stuck it in the middle of the lounge with a massive bow on. Suffice to say it went down very well

Wife bought from the littlehampton dutch bike company - not cheap though. She does not use it as much as she should though mainly because it weighs a ton (maybe literally!) and living in a village called Steep even with modified gearing getting it up the hill from town is a pita.
I had a couple of Dutch friends at uni, everytime I saw them ride through Leeds it was like a little bit of Holland passing by!
How does the sizing work? If I ride a Medium / 18" MTB frame roughly what size would I need?
I think gazelle and Velorbis are quite widely available over here:

Lovely bikes but not cheap (or light). I'd have one over a fixie for commuting though.
I am Dutch, but live over here and years ago I bought a dutch Mothersbike from a warehouse type bike shop. Was really cheap, my mum picked it up and I brought it to the uk. I seem to remember it being near the ferry in Hook of Holland as well (that side of the country). I could see if my mum remembers what is was called...?
Email is in profile if you need help.
Or just look second hand on "marktplaats" (the dutch dont really use ebay as much).
Cheers

Bobbin Bicycles have that sort of thing, some nice looking bikes there.
My Mum has a pashley, it's called "Dora". This could be you. 😉
(It may sound like I'm being rude about them but I love dutch style bikes too, I need to borrow my Mum's next time I'm round there)
Just seen an ad for some bargin priced ducth bikes in the Guardian.
They may be gash, but at £180, might be worth the gamble.

We've been doing Gazelle Dutch bikes for years.
I think the £500 price range was the problem RichieBoy.
Ahhh missed that, sorry.
Might be worth a look at CRC's Electra bikes pseudo Amsterdam range.
