I dont really know why but it seemed too good a chance to miss
Bought a couple of Hope vision 4`s with out working batteries so wondered what it would be like if I converted one to 15 volts and so could run the 4 new XML U3 Leds I installed in it at the full 3 amps .
just got it finished and waiting for nightfall to see if it is an improvement Mad yes 😈

Really pleased with my Hope Vision 2 conversion, easily out performs my MaaxD, brighter and better pattern. Don't need to use it on flat out, so far got 90 mins out of the 'double' Hope battery any ideas what I can expect on run time or is it trial and error?
Think you may have a few more on the way now my mates have seen this one.

Trout, I've had a look inside my vision 4 with a view to upgrading to 4No. U2 or now U3s.
I notice that the existing LEDs are all on one board, and they sit on little raised points in the casing.
When you upgrade to T6's, do you use a single star with 4 emitters on, or do you stick 4 single ones in?
What size stars are you using? My rough measurements are that 20mm stars would fit in quite well butted up to each other, so that would just be a case of ensuring that each emitter is on one of the raised bits of the casing?
How long till it overheats?

Pahhhhh, frankly that's just amature.
34000 lumens (there's 48 x 1100lumen LED's so presumably either it got hot and they had to drop it a bit or they've actualy measured that!)

It will never overheat cos the driver keeps tabs on the temp and when it hits 60c it dims until it cools down a bit
this happens in about 3 minutes on the desk on full not yet tried it on the bike

Donk Yes will do send in your hope and I will hop it up to this spec
but it would mean a new battery
First ride with it this morning with the Lumen hound
and ran it for 10 minutes at Paddy speed without it dimming down though it was warm to touch and dimmed within 2 minutes of stopping
