Just opened a set of brand new Shimano downtube shifters from the early 80's, a little something for my build.
Well they don't make them like they used to. I nearly spaffed when I saw the short length of rear mech outer, nice stainless all metal flexible outer and none of this plastic malarky.

gap in the market....
I only (relatively) recently stopped using downtube shifters on my tourer. Truly horrible, cannot imagine why you'd want to do this on a bike you'd actually ride.
Cable is lovely though...
Hmm, I think that niche is well covered by Nokon and I-link. Looks far nicer than some dodgy old bit of stainless. IMO natch 🙂
Nice.
dodgy stainless! better than the crap nokon turns to after its seen rain
flap jack, I'm restoring this old 531 Professional frame. Just need a few more shiny silver 5 speed bits and I'm done. Well except from an odd part for the forks.

Anyone ever seen these little bad boys?

In June we have a club only race day/BBQ at the MK Bowl, I'm hoping to race it there.
Back wheel will never fit 🙂
oooh I don't know 😐
Is there a coin that will fit. Something from that era like a big old 10p?
