Thinking these would be just the job on a Whippet. Anyone got experience of them? Are they as tough as, say, Exotics and what's the tyre clearance like? Also, I think they have a carbon steerer so what's the best way star nut alternative?

yeah,I've had some, nice quality, tyre clearance was tight, stiff and light, came with a bung for topcap bolt, but I recon you'd be ok with a Hope head doctor.

There are some horror stories of poor QC with those forks - sudden steerer tube failure for example... Give it a google.

Mine developed a bluge/ridge in the gap of the stem clamp, and I was using a bung.

I sent them back and had a horror story, I eventually, after 4 months and threatening to flame him here, got a replacement set that I promptly sold, at a loss, of course.

They were light as ****, but rode very stiff, too much for me.

Hmmm thanks for that. Think I'll stick with the trusty Exotics

mine rode fine for just over a year now

they took a fair fair beating at 10 under the ben and have finished very high up in local enduro/dh races

they are being retired to the shed now because they make noises i do not like (and ive seen the photos that Gee is referring to)

they rode much better than my pace rc31s which couldnt turn a corner if their life depended on it, They had oodles of tire clearance for 29 x 2.2 and were the right length for my ragley.

think im going to replace them with some steel forks
