Morning all

looking to change my tyres on my hybrid bike. I’ve used continental in the past and have been quite happy. Is there anybody running conti on there hybrid and which ones have you used. I use the bike more on the road with occasional toe paths. I want somebody that’s fairly fast rolling but has the ability to go on light gravel paths etc
any help

thanks

Tom

Continental Contact Speed in whatever is the widest size you can fit.

I've used them for years on road, towpaths and a few bridleways and never punctured one. They're much faster than things like the Schwalbe Marathons.

Plus one for Continental Contact Speed, had a customer do a Scottish jaunt on some (can’t remember which route), the off road was more than he was expecting but he said the tyres were superb!

I'd recommend Continental Terra Hardpack for what you're describing (650b & 700c x 50mm) but there must be a wealth of widish gravel tyres that would work (Vittoria Terreno Dry for example).

The hybrid of doom is currently wearing tan wall Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H’s in 700x35. I am aware these are ridiculous tyres for a 30+ yo Raleigh Pioneer.

I’m also using Continental Contact Speed. They only have a file pattern tread but are quick yet still work on gravel .

Thanks for the heads up guys big help. So currently it’s got 700x42c on. Is it better to stick to this size or go wider ? I believe I can get the Continental Contact Speed in 700x42. Silly question what’s the “C”

thanks

tom

Conti Contact Speed for least rolling resistance on mrs_oabs wagon

I have the Terra Hardpack and it's equally good, just wider and a touch less speed but a touch more grit/gravel off road ability.

I've been running Top Contacts as well before - many thousands of miles without any punctures. Mrs_oab's Schwalbe G-Ones however are three punctures in over 6 months...
