You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all
Having recently had a little one, the time has come to get a new bike for family duties. The bike needs to be strong enough for a baby seat and general day-to-day wear, but I also do the odd 50 mile road charity ride so needs to be able to do that without too much slugging!
I've narrowed it down to two possibles and would welcome opinions.
First is the 2015 charge grater 3. I like the looks and i've heard good things (and bad) about the hub gears, although I'm worried about the weight and what it would be like on the long rides.
Second is the whyte shoreditch 2016. Spec seems good and like the idea of the carbon fork and the retailer would throw in guards. Test ride felt nice and was surprised that the large fit best as I'm a fairly short 5'10 and these supposedly have long top tubes. Can't find many reviews on these and wonder if it would be strong enough for family use.
Any opinions much appreciated.
Thanks
