Evening,
Anyone got them ? And how do you rate them ?
P.s
Go on Wales !!!!
I have some, used for a couple of months. I went for the trail wide and use 2.5/2.4 Minions. So far very impressed; build quality fantastic, pickup is great and they’re fast rolling. Hub is noisy but I like that. Can’t comment on bearing life but Hunt were great to deal with directly and they’re open to being contacted directly for customer service (similar to Hope).
Never heard of them... Runs off to look
I have the Enduro-wide (is that a new standard? 😁 ) wheelset on my hardtail. Quality product and very reliable so far. Customer service is second to none.
Having run with Hunt road wheels for quite a while I have no hesitation in recommending Hunt.
I don't work for them btw! 😁
Got some trsil wides on my soda. Love the hella loud hub.
They had a very good write up in mb uk this month.
Have been thinking about upgrading the Kore realm wheels in my Orange Four for a while, and these seem to be just what I’m after,
Just needed to hear from people who actually own and ride them.
Cheers for the replies.
Got the Enduro wheels on my RocketMAX, very nice build quality, I like the noisy hub too, feel plenty stiff enough but just enough give not to be jarring. Running 2.8 front and 2.6 rear DHF’s on them and they’re great fun to ride.
I’ve got the XC versions and really like them so far, only had 150 miles so far but feel good, good build quality, light. No complaints at all, and for the money I think they a steal
Have a pair of trail wides on order for a Solaris Max build. Based on all the good things I've heard and read it was a no brainer to order some.
Just playing the waiting game, as some options are not in stock (high demand!).
Trail wide here, impressed. Easiest tubeless ever as well (Maxxis Forekaster).
The Sram 'torque caps' sent foc with them bind a bit though, but I don't know if thats a fork or hub issue. Its prolly Rockshox marketing bobbins anyway and works perfectly well without them.
I have the Trail Wide's and really like them, pretty light and look good. Interesting that the Torque Caps were mentioned, mine were so loose they rattled and spin with the Maxle done up. Exchanged a few emails with Hunt who were really helpful, they sent out another pair of Torque Caps foc.... Which are the same! I think maybe the 15mm adapters are possibly not the right width? Hey ho, they work fine without them, just more fiddly to get the wheel in.
I like Hunt as a company and I've been really impressed by a pair of their gravel wheels, but my Trail Wides have been a bit of a disappointment. The rim seems to be super soft, much more easily dinged than my previous WTB KOMs, to the point that I'm putting another dent in every other ride (often easy Pentlands stuff with no obvious rim traps). I've had a couple so bad that I lost my tubeless seal and had to limp home with a spare tube in. I'm running reasonable tyre pressures and haven't had this issue on various other wheel sets so presume it's down to the alloy/design of the Hunt rims.
Hunt have offered me a crash replacement discounted wheel, but I've decided to go with DT Swiss instead.
