I'm looking at getting some hunt wheels from there mtb range but can't decide which way to go with there alloy wide race xc wheels, wide trail version or carbon High impacts.
They will be for my yeti sb115 c1 which currently have some dt swiss m1900 on,I mainly ride twisty singletrack at my local or flowy fast stuff in the surrey hills. I like a abit of techy terrain on this but nothing to crazy. I don't do big feature riding but I do have an enduro bike for Wales and bike park more aggressive trails.
My main question is do I go lighter with the hunt xc wide wheels which is in keeping with the down country vibe but I am worried about durability with a 24mm Internal rim.
Or go carbon with the high impacts but I don't really get the feel of what a carbon wheel would give me, they are only about 200g lighter than my current wheelset too.
What do you think?
Any advice would be widely appreciated thanks.

I'd save your cash and keep your M1900's.
Maybe upgrade them to 36 tooth Ratchet LN if the money's burning a hole in your pocket.

Given that you're on Swiss 1900's I don't see any benefit in swapping for a trail wide other than perhaps a slightly quicker engaging hub. There's maybe 50g in it.
If you went down to the XC wide or the race wides, you'd save weight but I still think the trailwides are a better option in the Surrey Hills unless you're racing.
I have trailwides myself. I like them, but have also smashed one rim. (replaced without quibble) But going lighter would worry me (I am 90kg).
Can't fault the durability of my 29er XCwides, 2 years on with a mix of South Downs and Surrey Hills trail riding (not stupid free-ride or jumps) and they're still running tight and true, no dings on the rims at all (run with 2.3 Maxxis tubeless tyres at about 24ps) and the shot-peened finish still looks great. Fast pick-up freehub sounded like snake oil TBH but it really does make a difference and I like the noise it makes too. Rear bearings have just started to loosen which TBH is an easy fix when I finally get round to it, I reckon two-ish years is pretty good lifespan for bearings.
But the STW hive mind naturally cries "DTSwiss" so what do I know?
We just did this to one 🙂

I've hunt xc.on my hardtail. Similar use to you.
They have broken a couple of times and been fixed under warranty promptly.
If you are worried about breaking them I'd get something stronger than the xc. Warranty has been excellent for me and is 3 years. I'd rather they didn't break in the first place l.
Cheap carbon wheels from eBay on my full suss have been problem free with a lot more rocks at higher speed.
They were a similar price and similar weight.
The material of the rim makes no difference for me.
Just stick with the DT Swiss , far superior.
