Has anyone tried the Hunt Enduro Wide Wheels on here yet?

https://www.huntbikewheels.com/products/hunt-endurowide-mtb-wheelset?variant=12211070566477

I see that Singletrack did a review on the narrower Trail version, but im keen to hear what people think of the Enduro Wide rim?

I know someone who has a set on test so that review should be coming out at some point, maybe he'll pop on here and give his thoughts. Don't think he's broke them yet so that's good news.

Think Cotic spec them as an option now too so worth dropping them a line seeing what they think.

It's a local company for me, so would like to support them with my next wheel purchase....but are they just rebranded Novatec hubs? Tis the only thing putting me off!

They are, but if the rims are good that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO.

What's wrong with re-branded Novatec hubs?

Is that any worse than all the brands that used to, or still do get Giant to make their frames and then just brand them as their own?

My understanding is that they are a specific spec that Hunt has asked for rather than just an 'off the shelf' hub, but might be wrong.

I think start with an off the shelf shell, but then they specify better bearings and seals. I’m sure there’s either something on their website or in an article somewhere I read.

BTW, they are very helpful if you send them a query.

I was interested in their freehubs to go on my Novatec wheels and they were very transparent.

120kg weight limit on those wheels.

I'm inside that by about 15kgs, but even so, looking at their package weight which is low forfwhat they are, they're being built closer to the edge of the design envelope than some others.

Mine haven’t really been ridden but they seem well-tensioned.  My tyres went up tubeless first time on the pre-taped rims amd the width gives my 2.35 Magic Mary and Hans Dampf tyres a nice profile.

I’ve had a my set for 4 months now, and have been very impressed with them. Customer service was excellent, with fast delivery. Finish of the rims is really nice, well tensioned and the hubs are still smooth and the sound of the rear hub is awesome. Tyres went up tubeless with little fuss (Michelin wild enduro), and give a nice profile. They seem very solid and have taken some of my heavy landings with ease, considering they are on my heavy rocket and I weigh 94kg kitted up. I think they’re great wheels for the money and would recommend them.

Interested in how they work out!

My comment on the rebranded hubs was having seen my superstar hubs require constant maintenance and my friend (who rides from time to time) regularly goes through pawls and freehubs.

Of course....it may or may not be like the one specced on the HB wheels. But is rightly or wrongly in my thought process when selecting hubs!
