Humidity - a new level

My little local woodlands loop this morning was more like a scene from gorillas in the mist.

Anywhere out in the open wasn't too bad - there is actually a fair breeze, but in the trees the humidity was off the charts. I sweat a lot and take preventative measures where possible. But this morning was insane.

Every single item of my riding clothing could be wrung out to generate a lively flow. On getting home I noticed that I was leaving wet shoe prints everywhere - sweat pooling in my shoes and being forced out through the cleat holes.

I will be spending the rest of the day doing all I can to avoid breaking sweat again.

Anyone else found it crazily oppressive this morning?

Wasn't expecting the heat to build so quickly with a decent breeze blowing here and short walk into town mid morning for shopping and butcher was 🥵

At work. The seminar room is like a sauna as usual.

Thunder tomorrow potentially...

Just got back. I'm used to my shirt being wet through in warm weather but even my shorts were soaked at the front like I'd wet myself. Which I had, in a way.

I got off my coach earlier for a break, it was quite nice inside (A/C) and i was really surprised how warm it was outside.
Not usual for fife.

You'll remember this feeling in the middle of February, freezing your nuts off , trying desperately to clean your bike before it gets dark at 3 o clock 😞

I caught a train from Wolverhampton yesterday afternoon, after spending an hour or so walking the canal towpath. The AC was either totally broken or not switched on, and it must have been knocking 90°, with attendant humidity, in the carriage. Not a fun experience.

It has been quite bad here in cloudy Stowmarket, haven't had sweaty clackers this bad for a long time

I'm sat at a village fete in a park drinking nicely cooled Otter Amber. Not sweating currently.

Took the little one to toddler gymnastics yesterday. Big ol' tin roof building. Mats all covering the floor. Moisture build ups, dripping off the roof, onto the mats... it was pretty ripe in there.

Even at 6am where I am I can get wrinkled fingers from riding in summer. All my clothes get soaked through… socks, jocks, even shoes 🫤

Did the MTB Epics Solstice 100 miler off road event, first half was OK with a bit of a breeze, but second half, breeze went and humidity and heat just built and built, stopped at 3 shops on way, but also had to ask a lady in her garden if she would fill up bottles, she was an angel, even put ice in and was trying to give us food to....

My mate who i rode with is like a rasher of wind, i've never seen him even break a sweat, but he was the same..

I had the same yesterday. Out just after 9, only gone for an hour or so, everything i was wearing was soaked. Shoes wet enough from sweat to get dust sticking to them, shades covered in a combination of salty sweat trickles and dust...

It didn't get any better later in the day either.
