Silent roar. It's lion dung. They don't want to mess about on a bigger cats patch.

These are meant to be good.
just get a bloke wearing brogues and jeans to stand in your garden..
no self respecting cat would be seen dead with such a sartorially challenged nincompoop
Got one of the ultrasonic thangs. Seems to be work to be honest. Distinct reduction in he amount of cat shit in my back garden since I put it in. Need to mount it quite high though, say garage soffits or something. Tried the pepper dust and all that but they were useless.
Handgrenades work very well i am told!
Large bucket of water
Get a big dog.......
I have a big 35kg dog, he doesn't seem to be a deterrent!
Tried that Roar stuff too, if anything it encouraged the little scroat to do it even more.
Never seem to catch the devil in the act, it's a sneaky "private" business doer, so can't get near it with water in hand.
May have a go with that infrared sprayer, anythings worth a shot.
Been out in the garden tonight and a new mound covering yet ankther pile of fresh stinking poo is present. Seriously getting towards the end of my tether!! Being a responsible pet owner myself, always picking up my dogs presents, even when out on the trails with him, this really does drive me insane.
Wonder what actual cat owners opinions are?
Oh and I'm not sure where my initial writing describing my predicament went to, sorry folks, wasn't meant to just be a blank box
Basically cat keeps using my vegetable patch as its own private bathroom. Not the most hygienic of circumstances hence my desperation for a solution!
Put this on your other thread
Infared box sorted out exactly the issue you describe in my front garden/veg patch. You might need to spend a few nights playing with the settings but 9 months on and it's still doing the biz.
Either that or anti freeze according to a friend of mine. Apparently the cats like it but it doesn' like them. Fortunately the technical box of tricks worked before I was pushed too far by our feline friends.
Tim
(paid veg gardener and not a friend to cats/slugs/pigeons/sparrows/white fly/etc)
Antifreeze (ethylene glycol) is poisonous to cats and other animals. Its a cruel way to die.
Tim -
Maybe you could add some to your friend's food or drink and see how he likes it!
Mark your territory but obviously try not to aim at the vegetables. Having tried quite a few things this worked completely. Also kept the foxes out. Also very liberating but obviously bit embarrassing if your neighbours catch you. Not sure if its against allotment rules?
Leave orange peel around the boundaries. Replace every few days.
Joe - I know. Shame my two youngster like playing in their garden and don't know the difference between dirt and cat crap. I believe it's rather dangerous to young shildren and pregnant mums to be but hey, our garden is only a big litter tray for other peoples domesticated pets at the end of the day.
next doors cats scared of our garden now ..... when i first moved in and was renovating id often find it creeping/lying about my house.
One day id left the garage open - then at the end of the day locked it all up before going to the ukraine for 3 weeks with work.
My mrs came up to the house 3 days later. got out the car and heard a cat going mental.
opened the garage door and the cat bolted out and across the garden and out.
Not a happy cat but its own stupidity caused it - very very rarely see it in the garden now , let alone in the house or the garage.
A Moat. With Piranahs.
he didnt mention anywhere he was a member of parliment seadog !
Catapult! The clue is in the name if you look hard enough 😉
I can not believe that owning a cat in an urban environment is legal.
I wouldn't put dog poo in my neighbours gardens. Its socially irresponsible to own a cat. They are vermin and should be shot.
Buy a rabbit if you want a pet.
Honestly, my position has mellowed in the last few years.
Ps next doors cat pooed in my car.
Ive found that no deterrentswork forever...... you can spend hundreds and they'll still come back.
Get a dog....
zippy - I'm right behind you fella :O)
Thank you timbur.
No doubt we will have a cat person banging on about how wonderful cats are as they are so independent and that if the owner died they would bugger off and find someone else ha ha, like its a good thing.
Change the word cat for wife.
"Yeah I love my wife shes out all the time, fleecing me for money till she can find someone richer."
stop and breath cats maybe domesticated but to be honest arnt you cant realy train a cat and to keep them in is cruel. How to stop them get an infrared sprayer that or tressle on top of your fence should sort it
Zippy and timbur - I'm right with you, too, fellas. Can't stand 'em. Same issue here - 4 raised beds trying to grow fresh veggies - only for them to attract what seems like all the local cats to "Their" own private latrine. I have given up growing stuff now as its too much of a risk...
I have a dog and she hates 'em too but they are sneeky ****ers & I (nor the dog) can't seem to catch them in the "act."
Similar issues with my bird table too - I have had to make that area as cat proof as possible...
SCUM. I hate them.
The infra-red things do work in my experience.
It takes the stress out of the situation.
Oh, don't give up growing. It's good for you!
