Trying to get a definitive answer on this is a ball ache. Can I use shimano mineral oil (that I use for my brakes) or should/can I use wet lube such as Finish line for my mavic rear hub? What do you use?

Mineral oil has no other use than the brakes. Grease for ball bearings and freehub, the pawls will quite like it and will quieten down for a while!

EDIT - lube doens't have a use for hub servicing, only ever use grease

According to Mavic I should be using Mineral oil. According to my lbs I could use finish line (as an example).

Been told not to use grease as its too heavy a medium and will clog up parts and generally mix with any dirt that gets in...along with invaildating the warrenty.
