You'll have to bare with me, i'm a bit simple in the mechanical department. Basically i want to use this Red hope (I beleive pro II) rear hub on my 2006 norco Team DH with a 150mm / 12 back end but i've got a few problems. I'm pretty sure it's 150mm wide so i'm ok on that front but I tried to remove the bolt to take the cassette off the non cassette side nut came off but the bolt wouldn't move through the hub and the cassette side bolt wouldn't budge. Should it so should I WD40 it and give it a tap or is the bolt fixed. Any help is really appriciated. There are some pictures below. Oh and how would I find out if it's a 12mm?
Many thanks
Anyone?
Hi!
That looks like a through axle that's in there, it also looks like the wheel or maybe the bike it was on, has been sitting in a shed for a while.
I would give it a couple of taps with a hammer and see if you can move it at all, if not I would then lie it flat but support it so that it's even and spray WD40 onto it. You could also spray some WD40 onto some tissue / kitchen toll and tape it to the area you want it to go into.
Hope that makes sense, my email in my profile if you need a hand.
K.
