I have a Tacx Smart Trainer linked with my iPad Air via bluetooth to access Zwift. I am looking to add a HRM into my setup to give also. Is anyone able to suggest a HRM for this application and the best way to connect all the products to ensure that they all work together correctly?

Many thanks

I don't do Apple but the one of choice on the forum is the Coospo one available from Amazon/ebay.👍

It's BT and ANT+

I got a Magene one which I was a bit dubious about, but it has been spot-on. Been using it for perhaps 4 months or so now.

Regarding connecting things up - you shouldn't have to do anything. The HRM will be 'found' by the tablet & the Zwift app will recognise it & use it for HR recording.

I've got the Polar Verity Sense, no setup required, Zwift on the ipad found it and connected.

Have a look at the Viiiva HRM - it can act as a bridge for other sensors, such as cadence sensor, etc.

I asked about bluetooth HRM for Zwift a couple of days ago. I've ordered a CooSpo arm one from their AliExpress shop about £24.

Yeah I’d just add avoid the Garmin dual hrm strap. Via Bluetooth to Apple they seem to go haywire for no apparent reason - you end up with the phone recognising and connecting to the strap but no hr transmitting. Apparently it’s still transmitting via ant+ but some kind of phone update is nailing them. I’m on my 2nd as the 1st went that way - I just took it back to Halfords and they swapped it with no questions asked really (luckily)

Great, thanks for the replies. That is good to know joebristol as I had originally been looking at the Garmin Dual HRM. Think I'll look to get a CooSpo ordered in that case.

I've got both an older Ant+ only Garmin and a Wahoo TickR, the Wahoo seems to have issues with either connecting to Zwift or the amount of sweat giving really low readings sometimes, the Garmin doesn't.
