I havent ridden in it in maybe a decade
will it still be wet after May's rain?
cheers
It would be good to hear from a local, I'm going there on Saturday.
Rode it about 6 weeks ago. Lots of felling over the last year so Loop 2 will look very different. The second to last final descent still isn't open (closed for about a year, I think), but still deffo good fun. Wetsuit optional!
I rode it back in October and the first descent was completely flooded and boggy. The rest rode really well apart from one small bit of the boardwalk section that was completely rotted/missing. Overall I did enjoy it a lot!
Local but haven't been in a while. It's pretty dry around here at the moment and weather's looking good towards the weekend.
Understand that the second to last descent is open now too.
Good to know @chevychase, but has that bomb-hole at the bottom of that descent been filled? Never the smoothest of landings!
I went for a ride there yesterday.
Loop 2 is closed.
There was a new descent on loop 1 or an old one that i hadn't ridden before.
It was wet on the open single track bit, but it was a roasting hot day so was kind of refreshing if you don't mind getting a wet backside.
Bummer bout loop 2, maybe Ill do CYB instead
Well it's been 12 years I worked out since I rode there but Penmachno was brilliant did loop 1 and a bit more, great day out and not too wet!
Some great rocky drop offs toward the end of loop one, followed by lots of fun jumps
Thanks for the tips
We did Gwydir Mawr in the morning and most of loop 1 in the afternoon due do a range miscalculation which saw me with 1 mile remaining at the point that loop 2 starts...
Nothing we rode was particularly wet and it was great fun.
Thinking of riding here tomorrow afternoon. Any updates on trail conditions?
Threw it down yesterday but today's good. There'll be puddles, but wales, right?
Other than that. Machno's ace.
Tried to ride the shorter Eryri loop on Monday evening. There's a big diversion in place, I assume for forestry work. What we could ride was quite overgrown with lots of brambles in places and the boggy bits were very wet. We didn't try the other loop and we didn't start from the car park, so your experience may differ.
Yeah - if you'd have started from the car park you'd have seen a sign saying Loop2 / Eryri closed (logging - I can see it going on when I walk out from my house).
