The trail centre trails are never really boggy, just wet. They have done a lot of work recently with draining sump pools so a lot of the larger puddles that were forming shouldn't be there any more.

Heavy rain last night and again this morning but otherwise has been fairly dry all week. As above there has been some great drainage work on the berms.

The Chase rides well when it's a bit damp & if tomorrow's forecast is anything to go by it should be most excellent by evening.

I can confirm that the Dog was as dry as a bone yesterday - rode great, has'nt been that dry since Summer. However it has rained all night last night so it will be slippy, but as was said there won't be much if anything in the way of mud/major standing water. They have been working hard on drainage, bless 'em, and the trail has had a few closures recently while they've worked on it.
Not going up today - towpath day today with the Mrs 🙄 - but going up tomorrow morning so will report on it then if you want?

that's grand thanks. Couldn't be arsed with the clean up operation for what is going to be a quick ride if it was really sloppy. Only ridden FTD when bone dry so wasn't sure how it was when wet.

Cheers, I'm in the area anyway tmw evening, so will go for a quick spin.

Not that it matters if you're just doing FTD, but a fairly large chunk of the Monkey Trail is closed for forestry work at the moment.

was there last weekend in the rain and it was fine. the surface doesn't get boggy but its made up of pebbles which can feel a bit slippery sometimes.

Just wanted to add that the Monkey was riding brilliantly on Tuesday night. Enjoyed all but one part of it, the diversion. Hopefully the FC will be out of that area in a few weeks as I enjoy that section too.

I rode the MT last Sunday and it was fine, and the forecast rain didn't come, which is always a bonus. Going again this Sunday, though not checked the weather yet.

Follow your dad pretty wet tonight, no mud as usual, but the tac blast is now surprisingly puddle free.

We were over the cemetry - stepping stones side last night, slid off the trail 3 times in the mud as the front tyre just washed out. Filthy, cold and soaked by the time we got home. Time for some grippier tyres - Rocket Ron's don't handle those conditions too well!!
