Thinking of going for a quick spin on Saturday morning, and I was wondering if anyone knew how wet the Mendips are after all this snow/rain?
I wasn't out last week, but friends that were said that the snow last sunday was 'balls deep' in quite a few locations and that the snow was so deep generally they spent 60% of the ride pushing.
Thats quite alot of snow, so on the basis of the recent thaw and the fact that they were pretty much saturated before the cold spell, I'd say they'll be gopping wet.
I'm due out sunday, so if you go, post up would you?

Pretty damn wet i'd say. Last sunday i walked the dog up to Blackdown, waist high drifts across the ridge top path. Cycled up Burrington Coombe and over to Cheddar gorge on wednesday on the road bike and still alot of snow around.
Really wouldn't recommend it if you have the choice.
