Don't want to break my New and Extra Shiny carbon seatpost (again). The seatpost clamp is split with two bolts, and the top and bottom parts can tighten independently. The clamp itself says 7Nm on it, and the seatpost says 4Nm...
I have a torque wrench and am tempted to just cover the post in carbon paste and do both clamps up to 4Nm, but is the idea that the bit that clamps onto the frame is meant to be tighter than the bit that clings to the post?
Only asking because the seat post seems to have a wall thickness of about 1mm and looks somewhat fragile, compared to the old one which had roughly the same thickness and weight as lead pipe.
Thanks in advance
Looks vaguely like this (but different torque values on mine)...

try it at 4Nm with carbon paste, if it doesn't slip you're fine.
Loss of weight weenie points for having 2 bolts on a seat clamp BTW
