Got some new wheels and I'm trying to remove the tyre from my old ones, rims are Love mud Rumpus, the tyre is a 2.6 Nobby Nic and there is a Ratbite foam insert to make it even more fun. The insert keeps the bead locked tight, so you can't get near it with a tyre lever, even standing on the tyre and lifting the rim wont work.

Any bright ideas?

Had same problem with cushcore and my tyre rim combo. Push the bead into the centre rim channel all the way around, one side at a time this relieves pressure on bead and allows you to get lever in. It's slow and you need a lot of pressure to do it. You can add some washing up liquid to help once you get it started.

you could only move the tyre about a mm, not enough room to fit the tip of a tyre lever! Job done now, it took three people and two roundish screw drivers, plus two tyre levers. Put the same tyre and insert onto my new stans Baron rim in under a minute.

It shouldn't be an issue on my new rims, but the love mud's are known to be difficult! It didn't help I used gorrilla tape instead of stans.

I had to stand on the tyre with big toe right on the bead to break the seal on mine (wtb on rumpus).

Kneel down and put the wheel against your knees. Use your knees as a barrier and pull the tyre towards you as hard as you can. It may feel like your going to bend the rim but you won’t, and it should be enough to break the bead.

Also remove the valve core so all air can escape as you do it. Surprising how much gets left with the core in.
