I want to make a new battery for my CK/Hammond Easy DIY Light using 4 18650 batteries as my old RC style has died on me. I have an 4 cell enclosure but am not sure how to go about the building/wiring of the pack?
Alternatively what other batteries would be good?
I would also need a set of batteries and a charger if some one could point me in the right direction for them too that would be great.
Its a bit of an journey into the unknown for me so all advise appreciated 🙂
Smudge at mtbbatteries prob your best bet. I've only bought a light from him but he seems to be the go to guy on here for the sort of thing you're wanting.
I believe lots of battery packs I seen are seemingly just 18650 batteries, and Smudge made one for me 2 or 3 years ago using them to replace my Lupine one. So they do seem the de rigueur option, if nothing else cause there cheap as chips. Just make sure you get a "protected" version, to prevent issues
Does your enclosure allow the removal of batteries to charge, then just grab a standard charger for them? Otherwise you'd need some sort of smart charger.
Again as per Althepal, I'd suggest emailing Smudge, very knowledgeable guy & alway willing to help (also sells smart chargers, as well as batteries)
