I've been riding it a while, but the teeth don't look worn out, so I have no idea how I managed that!
flimsy-looking thing, innit
LIght bling product in under-engineered shocker!
Did you have it mounted the right way round? With the curved spokes pointing backwards?
Otherwise... Just not enough metal!
Edit: Am I being a mong? Is it even possible to mount it the wrong way round?
20 teeth, but 18 holes between the teeth and splines. So there is more material under/between teeth in some areas than others. It broke in one of the thin spots.
Wow, I'm surprised it made it our of the packaging without crumbling in my hands 😉
a cog you can't flip? That sounds all wrong.Did you have it mounted the right way round? With the curved spokes pointing backwards?
But I guess this product isn't aimed at cog/ring flipping, use it til it's totally dead types like me.
Admittedly OP used it till totally dead 😉
Looks like your chain tried to derail and then snapped back on taking the tooth with it.
I've got a Boone like that that has done quite a few miles* and though the teeth are worn looks like it'll still go on to do a few more miles yet. 🙂
*outlasted several surly cogs on another bike.
Definitely a Boone Ti above. I changed mine to a King sprocket. Just felt it was a bit too light for me. I believe that's a typical failure too.
