How often do you change your du bushings

Got an EXT Storia and purchased from new.

Developed play in the lower eyelet after 1-2 months so got sent some new bushings and all was fine. And now there’s play again after 3 months. I ride once a week mostly 20-30km at most. Less than 200miles and they’re gone already.

Is this normal? Or are these just bad quality bushings? I already miss the bearings in my old super deluxe eyelet 😩

Suppose I should invest in a removal/fit tool, will this do the job size wise? I’m not fussed about the force to remove it as I can use a vice if necessary, just so many different sizing options https://www.merlincycles.com/profin-du-bush-tool-1-269636.html?utm_source=PHG&app_clickref=1101lwJPu3Wb&source=PHG&utm_medium=Affiliates&utm_campaign=genieshopping

Ta in advance.

I assume your old shock didn’t have the same problem? If so, think I’d be giving Mojo a call. Could be a problem with the eyelet or, worst case, the eyelet being damaged from the first time the bush wore out

I get 3 or 4 months out of mine. I guess that's about 10-15 rides.

I've got a Storia on a five year old G13 that's still on the original DU bushes top and bottom.
They hand sized the spacers to the bushes when I went in to collect the frame to get the shock running as smooth as possible.

I'd definitely speak to Mojo about it. Something doesn't sound right there.

Thanks all, Santa Cruz nomad frame. No issues on my previous shock (but that did have bearings on the eyelet).

They sorted me some new bushings the first time but from speaking to them it seems I’ll have to pay for new bushings. I know they’re not expensive but when you pay £950+ for a shock I would have thought the bushings would have lasted more than 2-3 months. That would see me replacing them 6 times a year.

Anyone know if the above linked tool will do the job for removing the bushings?

I would be equally surprised and disappointed if Chris Porter et al weren’t able to give some kind of reasoning for what you’re seeing

Lots of rotation on the lower link of most VPP bikes. Well known for eating bushings at that end. My 5010 was the same with the beige Fox ones.

Get a Fox bearing mount or there's needle bearing mounts available, definitely buy a tool, they're cheap enough and very handy to own, plenty options available. I use poly or igus bushes, never been a fan of DU, but if all types are fast wearing on Santa Cruz as suggested I'd go for a fox mount.
