I bought and fitted a brand x dropper post from wiggle, tightened up the collar clamp and seat clamp bolts and found 5-6mm waggle laterally at the saddle tip
Is this normal, have I done something wrong, and can it be corrected please
Thanks

They all do that - perfectly normal.

They all do a bit. Maybe yours is at the upper end of the range for a new one. Don't worry about it and remember to change the brass keys when you first service it. Then the waggle will reduce.

Yep mine has done this from new. Never got any worse over the years and still works just fine.

Mine waggled a bit (never bothered to measure how much) and a year later it still has the same amount of waggle (as far as I can tell). It’s never been something I’ve noticed whilst riding and I assume if the tolerances were so tight that there was no lateral movement then dropper posts wouldn’t go up and down very well (I assume).

Fit a shorter saddle, it'll waggle less at the tip

mine waggled, with a bit of fore and aft movement. I didn't like that and CRC accepted a return without hassle.
