Anyone know what the rough cost of a wheel build is? Im tempted to buy some Easton ARC rims that are half price on CRC at the moment to replace a dinged one (and change the other as well 'cos well, they have to match dont they...), but havent a scooby how much a typical wheel build will cost?
Hobnobs (choccy) or Jaffa cakes (or £30 an end + spurks).
£25 including spokes or £30 for black ones - db dt or sapim
Just paid 37 for wheel to be built with me providing the hub and rim and the lbs sorting the db ss spokes out for me.
£25 per wheel in my shop + spokes and rim tape.
£30 per wheel labour + spokes.
£25 inc spokes? How, spokes cost more than that alone?
Yeah I thought my lbs was cheap and it's about £45 per wheel all in.

My thoughts too. I have to wonder why I've spent money on a truing stand, spoke wrench, and wheel building book, and invested time making a dishing gauge and nipple driver, and learning how to build a wheel.
I mean it was satisfying, but not that satisfying.
I wonder if some of these prices are where the hub/rim/both have been bought from the LBS? Not that I imagine they're making much on that.
rim hub not bought at shop, just take them up to big Al. if you wanted something else like CX-ray you'd be paying the cost of the spokes. Al does great prices on complete builds to at wheelcraft.
Who is this Big Al fella? Does he hang around in pub car parks with a spoke wrench and dangerous look on his face? Or just the premier members forum?
He owns wheelcraft and has nothing to do with STW
Last one I had done was £47 IIRC - thats labour and spokes - I provided the hub and the rim.
Pedals in Edinburgh. High quality build as well - its on our tandem
