I'm wanting to sell my old bike - I've had it for 10 years but hardly ever ridden it and it's in pretty good condition I think. I don't know how much it would be worth, I don't want to rip anyone off by asking too much. Any ideas?

Thanks

EDIT - It's a Giant Rincon - Medium.

Start at £1000 and say it’s a rare example of a classic bike.

Put too many zeros on there, looks like I under valued as well.

It’s a 26er I think, with v brakes, a triple and cheap / budget forks. But it does have a brand name and looks in reasonable condition. I’d say advertise at £150 and see if you get any interest.

If you look what you can buy for a couple of hundred quid new, your bike looks a fair bit better. Put it up for £170 and accept £150 cash on collection, sold as seen.

Thanks - I've advertised it at £175. Someone coming to look tomorrow!

You'd be lucky to get anything over £100.

You want rip anyone off, as long as you are honest in the description. If you are asking too much you just wont get any interest.

Sold my wife's specialized myka last year on eBay. Base model, 26" wheels etc

£0.99 start, £350. We didn't pay that much for it new. Bloke drove from Oxford to collect it for his daughter.

Probably could have got £250 for it in current market.

£175 seems fair enough though.

I would ask £300 for that these days. This time last year you'd struggle to get £100.

It does look in good shape. Those forks have some pretty ropey internals so they can die very fast, but if they're working properly then I'd definitely say £200 or above. Won't make for the easiest/quickest of sales but it'll be a better buy at that price than a lot of the crap out there.

£300 😮 - Really?

Everything works as it should. I've had a few stupid offers and a couple of genuine. Someone looking this PM. Based on the comments here £175 seems fair (as much as I'd like £300 for it) and I won't take offers at that price.

As usual - thanks all. 🙂
