For perspective, I sold my custom build 2012 Transition Covert, matt black, all Fox Kashima, Hope and Chris King everywhere, new 1 x 10 XT drivetrain a month ago for £1,500. It cost around £4,500 to build in 2012.
It stings but if you need the space for another, the bullet has to be bitten.

26"?
1-2k if you find someone who wants it. Sorry to say the market fell off a cliff for 26" bikes. Might be better split

Yeah 26" I'm under no illusion about the standing of 26" bikes in the market

I would be happy with around £1500

Sadly, I suspect that unless you split it you'll struggle to get £1k for it.

The rule of thumb is that it will be worth 60% of its original RRP, provided that it's a contemporary model and in excellent condition.

Upgrades tend not to improve the value of used bikes, even outstanding ones. Clutch mechs, 1x drivetrains, wheel diameters, wide rims and axle standards reduce the value of older bikes so cut that 60% by another 25% for 26" wheels (bad luck OP) and another 25% if it has a quick-release axle.

HTH

£1500 for the covert above sounds like you got a good deal.

I think you'd be lucky to get £1k

Agree a grand would be a good result.

Those metas just didn't really catch on.
