LBS did me a good turn looking after me with a warranty issue. They didn't have to help me at all but were friendly, helpful and extremely professional.
When I went to pick up the bike they charged me a nominal sum for postage of the warranty part. Quid Pro Quo I bought a few things that I kind of needed. One of them being a new XT HG-93 chain. $80 or 45 Pounds. Was a bit shocked as I normally buy stuff like that online.

So, not complaining, in fact the opposite. This bike shop now has a new customer.
Just wondering what the cost of said item is in your LBS.

£45 sounds well overpriced but are you talking about an LBS in the UK?

Did that include installation/cutting-down too?

I'd assume that he didn't buy the part from them.

I don't understand how sorting out a warranty issue is a "good turn"?
Why did they charge you postage?

One of them being a new XT HG-93 chain. $80 or 45 Pounds

That is almost double RRP!

Shop was not the place I bought the warrantied item. So big up to them for taking it on. They could have just said no.

$80 was in Aus where things are certainly much more expensive, well bike parts are anyway.
