[Closed] how much 'better' are Fox RLC's over RL's (ie. FIT against open bath)?

just wondered?

my Yeti Asr5 has F-series 32 RLC 120's and i'm about to change them for 140's.

i've bought a pair from ebay which were advertised as Float 140 RL's, but the photos clearly show the FIT catridge which indicates that they are actually RLC's.

is one better than the other in actual use?

I've got my head around the difference between F-Series and Floats (bascially down to the way in which the brace is either hollowed out or webbed).

just need to sell the 120mm RLC's now...

oh, and last but not least, what shade of white are the forks?... i want to get some touch-up paint from the car shop (or Humbrol enamel), but I don't know if they are 'bright white' or off-white.

cheers 🙂

I think the FIT element does not apply here. RLC forks offer rebound, lockout and compression damping adjustment. RLs just have rebound and lockout adjustment and were, typically, OEM product.

okay... doubly confused now.

from the fox fork website, they imply that RL's don't have FIT, but RLC's do... but then this suggests otherwise:-

http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/fox-suspension-32-f120-rl-fit-q15-1-1-8-white-id74626.html

so what is the easiest way to immediately identify whether i am looking at a RL or a RLC... are there any visual cues? (aside from label which may or may not be present)... would it be the red knob at the bottom of one of the fork legs?

If the red (rebound adjuster) is at the bottom of the fork, they are FIT cartridge; no matter how many other knobs are attached.

okay... i've worked it out now.

rlc's have a compression dial beneath the lockout on the top right crown and rl's don't...
