Hi all

Not been on here much recently but thought someone may have done this recently & be able to give an idea of time scales.

Basically i bought a frame off ebay (not private sale). Its been dispatched by USPS & their website is showing in landed in the UK on Sunday evening but nothing more.

What I'm unclear on is how long it takes on average to clear customs?

So. How long have you guys had to wait for bike stuff to arrive from the USofA?

Cheers

Bigsi

I've had stuff clear UK customs in a couple of days. 🙂

I've had stuff take a couple of weeks to clear UK customs. 😥

I'm waiting for some stuff ATM which left the states on the 21st and it's had no tracking since then. 🙄 It'll turn up when they're ready.

My last purchase from the USA took 3 days to clear our customs.

I noticed that the post and customs in the USA seem to drag their heels a bit though.

The last item I was waiting for took 14 days from posting to even leave the USA!!!!

Once it's in the UK, it shouldn't take long.

Yes you'll pay the courier the duty, vat and a charge on top for them handling it. 25% plus fee nowadays as near as. They'll contact you to ask for payment before they'll deliver.

I've got the eagerly anticipated/dreaded letter that my frame is ready for collection upon payment of VAT/duties/handling fees. Woohoo/bugger 😆
