[Closed] How hard is it to fit Invisiframe?

I've watched the Pinned TV video and it looks a bit of a faff, but is it idiot proof to fit? I always used to apply helicopter tape dry, thinking getting it wet would mean it wouldn't stick. Spraying loads of water and baby oil on the tape seems odd to me. Willing to give it a go though!

Baby shampoo.

It's not hard, in fact, working wet makes it easier.

Keep it hot and wet (and slightly soapy), great for fitting invisiframe, great if your with a lady ,  not so great if your in the Jungle..........

Is slightly more fiddly than doing a search on the forum for the answer.

It’s not hard just take your time...

Did mine on a rainy Saturday afternoon and found it quite therapeutic

Not hard (I've done four frames now) - take your time and follow the instructions.

I've done a couple of bikes, just make sure that you only put a tiny amount of soap in the water, too much and it won't work. When you get it right it is an absolute breeze. I only took wheels off, everything was accessible. Defo worth it.

Really easy to do, follow the simple guide supplied.

As others have said plenty of soapy water and doing it in the comfort of your home as the heat keeps the invisiframe more supple.

As above. Take you your time and definitely do it indoors with the heating on, will make life so much easier and the stuff will actually stick. Keep it wet with the diluted baby lotion (or whatever the instructions recommend.. I forget). I did two frames and they look really good and two years on, no peeling.

Does wetting help the adhesive stick better or just allow you to position the tape more easily? It seems like adding water to glue will cause the glue to stick less, rather than more.

yes

i've found HT are easy, complicated design FS frames more problematic

Tried wetting without soapy water and it just stuck like shit to a blanket and was hard to position. Put soap in and it was a doddle to position, took a bit longer to stick but well worth the time. Try and do it in the daylight as it’s easier to see any air bubbles and keep the frame inside the day before so it’s at room temperature

I Was sad when I finished my new Soul frame, I'd enjoyed it that much, easy if done properly.

Liked putting it on so much I bought some for my forks too.

I hate doing bright coloured frames as no matter how carful I am small bits of dust find there way under the film and ruin the perfect Finnish

I've not actually used an Invisiframe kit, just rolls of 3M tapes but the same technique applies.

It isn't "difficult" but it's bloody tedious if you are fastidious, so it helps to be mellow, relaxed mood whilst doing it.

I'm far too impatient, so I found it frustrating! 😉
