Finally getting around to building the frame up and I want to put the spacer underneath the headtube.
I've undone the top and bottom clamps and undone and taken out the steerer tube. How does the stem release as I guess that's keeping the fork on the head and I don't want to force it?
Anything else that I've missed....?
Thanks
Depends on model and what stem/steerer interface you have...
If you're not sure what you have stick up a pic.

Oops yes that might help.... 😳
XLR 29er fork & opi stem 2014 I think.
Cheers jools, that's the one.
Hammer time 😀
Had to stop halfway through, car dramas 🙄
Only had a quick peep but the bearings are a tight fit in the head cups. Is it ok to knock the cups out with the bearings still in place?
Like I said I've not had a proper look yet but could feel a lip inside the cup so think the removal tool should be able grip ok?
Cheers
Anyone advise on the headset cups, ok to remove them with the bearings still in place?
I've still not been able to check it out yet thanks.
