I notice that the Allen bolts holding the pivot bearings have disappeared from the latest Orange frames. Anybody know why and whether it makes bearing changes any harder (or easier)?
They've replaced the previous stub-axles with a through-shaft now. I normally thread a long bolt into one side, and tap it through to avoid any damage(pour boiling water over the bearing housing and it may well come out with the axle, otherwise use a drift through the axle hole to tap them out).
Thanks. Doesn't sound too complicated. Strange that there is almost no mention of the change (new pivot standard 😀 ) on the Orange site. Especially as easy bearing changes seem to be a selling point.
